Prescheduled convention events for speaker scheduling

Speakers, please review these prescheduled convention events before submitting your session proposal. If you are planning to attend any of these events, do NOT include that time in your availability for session scheduling.

Due to the volume of speakers who submit for each convention, our small team is unable to keep track of which events each person usually attends, so we appreciate your cooperation and help in this crucial piece of convention planning.

The following events and meetings take place concurrently with breakout sessions on Friday and Saturday.

FRIDAY

8-8:45 a.m. JEA membership meeting

8-8:45 a.m. NSPA/Quill & Scroll Advisory Board meeting

8-9:30 a.m. JEA Quiz Bowl qualifiers

8 a.m. to 4 p.m. NSMC on-site broadcast contests (exact times vary — if you might participate or judge but aren’t sure for which contest yet, we recommend selecting Saturday availability only)

9-9:45 a.m. JEA state directors meeting

9-10:45 a.m. Break with a Pro

10-10:45 a.m. JEA CTE Committee meeting

Noon to 3:30 p.m. NSPA on-site media critiques (schools can select a specific 25-min slot during registration)

2-2:45 p.m. JEA mentors meeting

SATURDAY

8-8:45 a.m. JEA Digital Media Committee meeting

8-8:45 a.m. JEA Scholastic Press Rights Committee (SPRC) meeting

8-10 a.m. JEA Quiz Bowl finals

8 a.m. to noon Adobe certification testing (you will be assigned a time slot after registering)

8 a.m. to noon Best of Show judging

9-9:45 a.m. JEA Certification Committee meeting

9-9:45 a.m. JEA DEI Committee meeting

9-11 a.m. NSPA on-site media critiques (schools can select a specific 25-min slot during registration)

11-11:45 a.m. JEA Awards Committee meeting

12-2 p.m. Adviser recognition luncheon
