Break with a Pro

Break with a Pro is a career exploration event that offers tailored, small-group discussion sessions with journalism professionals in traditional and specialized areas. Media professionals share information about their work and backgrounds, providing students with an excellent opportunity to meet people working in a career field they are interested in. Preregistration is required.

What to expect:

The event will take place in two 45-minute sessions (9 a.m. and 10 a.m.) in one large ballroom with approximately 25-30 round, numbered tables. One pro is assigned to each table. Students who preregister are assigned a time slot and table number based on the career topic they selected. When they arrive, they will show their ticket to the check-in desk and sit at their assigned table. Each table (1 pro & 9-12 students) will then engage in a small-group discussion related to the designated career area. Students are encouraged to prepare career-related questions.
